ColorKeys, Toronto
ColorKeys developed a system of teaching music using color. They created books and audio CDs to assist in teaching music using their system. They recently started developing computerized versions of their courses.
The Problem
The computerized version of the courses were being developed in Flash, which could not communicate with MIDI devices (a fundamental component of the course). As well, they wanted a student to be able to compare their rendition of a musical piece to the master version.
Our Solution
We wrote scripts using Adobe Director and Lingo to communicate with the MIDI devices. We then developed a proprietary algorithm for grading a student’s performance of a musical piece.
Zichron Binyomin, Toronto
Zichron Binyomin is an organization that helps donors centralize their charitable donations.
The Problem
Zichron Binyomin’s inventory consists of charity vouchers. The vouchers are sold in booklet form and returned as individual vouchers. Existing software could not track this effectively. Additionally, they required a large variety of reports surrounding purchases and redemptions of vouchers. As well, their database contained a large number of errors.
Our Solution
We recommended they move their data into a new database and correct any errors in the data. We then constructed a custom desktop application to track their inventory and built custom reporting and analysis tools.
